As a social enterprise, Women in Travel (CIC) is dedicated to leveraging the global travel, tourism and hospitality industry and its suppliers to provide women with the opportunity to fulfil their economic and individual potential.

We firmly believe that a sustainable future can only be achieved by putting women at the heart of communities and enabling their economic independence.  Travel, Tourism and Hospitality is a thriving global industry, which is enjoying formidable growth and where women have long been engaged: in short, an ideal channel to achieve our vision!

We provide employability and entrepreneurship services to women and organisations and offer additional mentoring, networking and inspiration through workshops and events, often free of charge. We are present at trade fairs and industry events in the UK and worldwide and work tirelessly to ensure that women’s contribution to this global industry is fostered, recognised and celebrated!

As the founder of Women in Travel (CIC), Alessandra has been called a ‘trailblazer’ when it comes to gender diversity in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality. She has supported women in the sector over the past 15 years and has been featured in numerous trade and business publications, conferences and events dealing with this topic. As early as 2005 Alessandra co-founded gender focussed company Shine and the Shine Awards for Women’s Achievement in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality, now run by People First in the UK.
